The Alternative Convention on Modern Liberty -- Sat, Feb 28th

As some of you will be aware the Convention on Modern Liberty is occurring on the 28th of this month.

The event will take place at the Institute of Education in Russell Square. However, you may also be aware that it is a little expensive to attend.

So to make sure us poorer types don't feel left out we're organising an Alternative Convention on Modern Liberty.

It will occur just around the corner at a pub called The Friend at Hand.

We will be convening from 12pm. Which will also be perfect for those of you attending the real event as lunch begins at 1pm.

This is an open event so whether you're a libertarian or not you're more than welcome to discuss liberalism with us.

Here's a map...

And we hope to see you there.

I'm going to the convention itself, but I may well drop in at lunch, probably bringing my housemate along. He's always asking me about libertarian points of view.

Well it will be nice to see you and your friend. I think it will be a very good chance to meet a fair few liberal minded types.

I should be there.

If we're starting in the pub at 12 I won't be able to remember my name by the time any attending the convention might arrive...

Good initiative! And maybe if you come along to the main Convention at 5.30 for drinks and the final discussion you'll be let in for a reduced rate, let's say a fiver, and then you can carry on drinking at the pay bar :-)

That's a very kind offer.

I shall be there: I'll plug it on The Kitchen in due course, depending on hearing whether they'll let me speak at the Open Session or not.

Oh fuck it, I'll plug this anyway, but not till tomorrow...

I'll be dropping in at lunch time to see you guys, then hopefully join you again in the evening.

So - how will we all identify eachother? :)

Katabasis-

try the secret handshake on everyone in the pub.

Seriously though, it's a good point- we'll find a way of marking ourselves out and let you know on the blog.

I will also try and make it if I can, though a tip to recognise people would be useful.

I'll try to make it along myself - if anyone wants to try to identify me, chances are I'll be wearing a big coat and will have slightly mad hair.
